Mohave Indian female pottery figure by Elmer Gates, 1929-1990.
Hand built with native clay and slips, pit fired.
The seated figure is 5 3/4" tall, wearing a cloth skirt and a beaded necklace.
Elmer Gates was known for making traditional Mojave pottery more modern.
Signed, excellent condition.
