Vintage Ceremonial Dine Wedding Basket

Hand woven sumac with dyed red and black, 3 coils and 6 wefts per inch, 14" by 2 1/2".

Representing the underworld and this world of Mountains and clouds with the Spirit

opening between them.

Used by a Medicine Man, remnants of corn meal in the weave.

Top side is faded, back is brighter.  Fixed with a hanger.
