Turquoise covered pottery jar with carvings by Edna Leki, Zuni, d.2003.
Daughter of Teddy Weahkee and sister of Mary Tsikewa, all renowned Zuni artists.
The four fetishes represent the four directions with two inside for zenith and nadir.
Each of the stone animals are about 3" long by 1 1/2" to 2" tall.
They have a medicine bundle of sinew wrapped arrowhead, turquoise, coral and shell.
The commercially made green ware pot is 6" by 9", covered with crushed turquoise, has an emergence hole
and corn meal for feeding the fetishes.
Very good condition! Acquired in the 1990s.
