Large pottery bowl by master Maricopa Indian (Pi Posh) artist Ida Redbird,1892-1971.

Traditionally hand built with native clay, iron oxide slip, the 3" deep by 8" diameter open bowl is beautifully formed and painted with mesquite sap and bark pigment. Pit fired.

Fine original condition, purchased from Ida in the mid-1960s.

Ida Redbird was inducted posthumously in 1982 into the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame.
